Lesson 8: Module G | Hypertrophy
Lesson 8 | Module G
The distribution of your volume across different rep ranges is going to look slightly different based on the goal of that block. Strength has a ton of neurological factors at play that need higher intensities to be trained. Hypertrophy is going to be primarily driven by volume as greater volume will lead to greater muscle damage, mechanical tension, and metabolite build up.
Greater hypertrophy does not necessarily mean greater strength but to say hypertrophy does not play a role in strength would be incorrect. Hypertrophy indirectly plays a role in strength and thus volume is still important when it comes to strength gains but still secondary to volume. The greater muscle mass one has the greater potential for strength one will have. But the neurological components, skill of the movement, and skill of driving max effort into lower rep ranges needs to be practiced to show that potential.
