One Million Reasons
This October 25th, we lift with purpose.
October 25, 2025
9AM-11AM
Resilient Training Lab
In memory of our beloved friend and shining light, Velvet, we’re coming together to lift 1,000,000 pounds — one rep, one set, one heartfelt moment at a time.
Two years ago, cancer took Velvet from us, but her radiant spirit still lifts us daily. To honor her legacy of strength, joy, and unwavering positivity, we’re hosting a community-wide charity lift with a powerful goal: raise funds and awareness for the CT Brain Tumor Alliance while pushing ourselves to new limits, just like Velvet always did.
You can join us by:
- Pledging per pound or by total tonnage
- Sponsoring a lifter or the RTL team
- Lifting with us and logging your weight to contribute
Donations will be either:
- A fixed amount direct donation through Venmo to @resilienttraininglab
- Pledge x amount/lb lifted. Lifters will lift approximately 1500-6000lbs per individual. We are hoping to hit 1,000,000 cumulative pounds lifted on the day.
Every pound lifted is a tribute. Every dollar raised goes to support cancer research and care. Let’s turn strength into impact, for Velvet, and for all those we continue to fight for.
Join us. Pledge. Lift. Remember.
We will be collecting pledges until October 25th before lifting begins. We will send an update to all pledgers after the event.
Lifters:
You will choose a weight to rep for 60 seconds, we will total up your total reps and lbs. To sign up click the link here: https://go.resilienttraininglab.com/velvetfund

Supporting Women in Sport and Science
May 17th | Resilient Training Lab
Join us as we celebrate strong women at the mock powerlifting meet on May 17th at Resilient Training Lab. Proceeds from entry and spectator sales will be donated to the Women’s Sports Foundation.
”The Women’s Sports Foundation was established in 1974 to advance the lives of women and girls through sports and physical activity. Our mission is to enable all girls and women to reach their potential in sports and life. We provide financial fuel to aspiring champion athletes. We fund groundbreaking research. We educate. We advocate. And we help communities get girls active.”
What is a mock meet?
A mock meet is a no-stress powerlifting meet where competitors will have 9 attempts to complete a squat, bench, and deadlift to the best of their ability. No singlets, referees, or commands are required. This can be a great opportunity for new lifters (or nervous lifters) to get an idea of what competing is like, without all of the stress of a sanctioned meet day.
