Lesson 6: Module E |Objective History

Lesson 6 | Module E

This module covers the objective examination portion of the physical therapy evaluation. We discuss common practices in physical therapy examinations and some of their inherent limitations/drawbacks, as well as ways to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of the test and measures that we do implement in this part of the evaluation process.

Topics include range of motion assessment, muscle performance testing (including maximal strength, power, rate of force development, and endurance), special tests, and neurological testing. We also discuss various forms of dynamometry testing for muscle performance, including the pros and cons of the different types.
